Our tool uses Sharp (libvips) to intelligently remove redundant data from images. For JPG, we use MozJPEG with progressive encoding. For PNG, adaptive filtering with maximum compression level. For WebP, effort level 6 for optimal size/quality balance.
What formats are supported?
Input: JPG, PNG, and WebP up to 20 MB. Output: same formats plus automatic format selection. Auto mode detects alpha channels (keeps PNG) and WebP inputs (keeps WebP), defaulting to JPG for photos.
How much can I compress?
Typical photos compress 60-90% at quality 80. PNG graphics often save 40-70%. Results depend on image content, dimensions, and quality setting. You can preview the exact savings before downloading.
Does compression reduce image quality?
At quality 80 (default), the difference is virtually invisible to the human eye. You can adjust the quality slider from 10 to 100 based on your needs — lower values = smaller files, higher values = better quality.
